PS is the best software for designing logos, however I know some people like Vectors, and there are better programs for that, I hope a member with experience in this will reply, as I'm not #1 at that.

Cheers

I am sorry celeb, but I am afraid you are wrong. Logos are best to be designed as vector. There are several reasons for that:
- Resizing, vector format has no issue with resizing what so ever.
- Conversion, you will not lose any quality by converting vector to raster but it is not the case for the other way around.
- The tools in vector applications are designed to evolve around the needs of logo designing.

I will add more as I think more reasons. But that being said. PS is a raster based application. It is possible to make a vector design in PS but there are plenty other better applications that are designed specifically for vector. The top 2 most commonly used vector application are Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. They are a little expensive but if you are planning on making logo or other vector works in the future, they are worth every pennies. Otherwise there are several similar applications that you can get for free.

I hope that answers your questions. If you have any further question feel free to ask, I will try my best to help.

Wenwen is right Illustrator is probably the best to design logos in terms of vector, Photoshop is usually what i will work with once my logo has been designed already.
